Rural Aid founders launch cause related funding solution across all Australian EFTPOS terminals and ecommerce websites to support tree planting initiatives.

After helping bring Australian’s together to support drought, fire and flood affected farmers and rural communities raising over 100 million, Charles and Tracy Alder are turning their hand to restoring ecosystems and farmland with tree planting initiatives. “When we were travelling around Australia and supporting our farmers, we noticed the disparity in land care programs and wondered if we could work with farmers to improve their soils and processes, especially around trees. Trees are the foundational plant when it comes to maintaining and establishing ecosystems and we need more trees not less.”

In a partnership with Australian Tech Company “Rounda”, EcoForce Global has developed a card linked funding model for the funding of tree planting initiatives that works across all eftpos terminals and ecommerce facilities, not only in Australia but worldwide. “To help plant billions of trees and re establish ecosystems we need consumers and business to contribute so the ability to trigger a rounding up amount with each card transaction automatically is ingenious and powerful” according to Charles who was instrumental in Rural Aid’s POS rounding up partnerships.

Holders of Australian issued debit and credit cards can link to EcoForce Global’s Rounda account and when they shop anywhere using a linked card, Rounda rounds up to the next full dollar or amount set by the card holder. All funds contributed through Rounda are allocated to the consumer and when a tree is purchased from roundups the consumer is notified by email where it is planted and which farmer is looking after their tree.

It’s a totally transparent simple, frictionless way that has the potential to make a real difference to our planet and communities.

David Lister Founder of Rounda said “the webapp has been in development for four and a half years and utilizes the best features of Australia’s Open Banking system. The simplicity of consumers being able to support tree planting or another cause by linking their card to Rounda across Australia’s payment network has been the reason we’ve built the solution. We’re hoping we can help plant millions of trees and help many other worthy causes reach their goals in the coming years.”

EcoForce Global’s tree planting processes includes choosing trees native to farmers planting sites, grown by local nurseries, planted by local non profit groups on farmers land who are paid to care for the trees for 5 years whilst they invest in regenerative agricultural farming processes, all supporting reducing carbon and chemicals from food production processes.
